Primary Duties:

Primary Duties:
- Inspect, evaluate and determine mechanical problems with various city-owned equipment.
- Operate computerized diagnostic tools and software.
- Make recommendations for general maintenance and repair of City equipment and vehicles.
- Prepare new vehicles and equipment for operation by installing various devices such as radios, safety equipment and lights.
- Perform torch cutting, welding, simple blacksmithing in forming and bending steel.
- Operate various electronic and computer based software applications for monitoring fuel levels, automatic vehicle locate systems, and documenting shop activities in fleet management/work order software.
- Perform inspections on underground storage tanks and orders fuel.
- May be responsible for supervision of others or be required to work alone.
- Practice accepted safety and preventative maintenance procedures at all times.
- Minimum of two years automotive shop experience or one year of automotive technical training.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to speak, write and understand English language.
- Must have a valid Drivers’ License.
- Must acquire and maintain a Class A/B Underground Storage Tank Certification within one year of start date.
- ASE certifications (or equivalent) specializing in auto & light truck plus electric vehicle.
Salary : $49,318 - $71,906
