Job Summary:
The Venue Manager is responsible for administrative and managerial work in the planning, organizing and directing the management and operations of the Exposition Building, Fitzpatrick Stadium, Merrill Auditorium and Oceangateway.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plans, directs and manages the administration and operations of the assigned venue.

Develops and implements Venue goals, objectives, policies and procedures.

Prepares, justifies, monitors and represents the budget for the venue.
- Assists the Director of Parks, Recreation & Facilities in the long-range planning, development and maintenance priorities for the venue to include facility maintenance, operations, program development, scheduling.

Organizes and administers a year-round venue use, scheduling, facility maintenance, program development and priorities for the assigned venue.
- Oversees the hiring and training of professional, technical and maintenance employees for the venue.

Develops and implements signage, sales and marketing strategies.

Reviews and evaluates the work of employees; makes program and facility inspections to evaluate the quality of work being performed at the assigned venue. Makes regular inspections at sponsored programs and activities in progress.
- Ensures that maintenance is scheduled and carried out in a timely fashion.
- Works with staff to ensure a high level of morale and productivity. Develops and fosters positive working relationships among all staff.
- May prepare agreements and invoicing or oversee that of rental agreements.
- Communicates regularly with the Director to keep the Director informed on important developments, correspondence, and meetings attended.
Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience working in venue management capacity

Ability to market the venues, programs and sales.

Proven experience in analyzing a variety of administrative and operational issues, to make recommendations for solutions and to implement those recommendations.

Experience in budget development and human resource management.

Knowledge of food and beverage, custodial and facility management as it pertains to scheduling and management, programming, planning and maintenance.
- 5-10 years of experience as a Venue Manager.
Expected Hours/Schedule
This position has a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends. Schedule and hours will vary based on Events.

This is a Non Union C44 position - Annual salary starting at $80,652.00.
