What are the responsibilities and job description for the Millennium Park Ice Rink Attendant (seasonal) position at City of Portage?
The City of Portage is seeking seasonal Recreation Attendants for the Millennium Park Ice Rink who excel in customer service and possess cash-handling skills! If you are passionate about making sure patrons have a great time, then this is your opportunity to make an impact.
What You'll Do:
- Engage with patrons when providing concession stand or skate rental services.
- Perform cash handling or point-of-sale services for rentals or food purchases.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the concession stand.
- Occasionally shovel snow and help prepare the ice for daily operations.
- Expected to arrive 30 minutes before opening and remain 30 minutes after closing.
- Staff can anticipate working indoors for 90% of a shift.
What We're Looking For:
- Positive, conscientious, and reliable seasonal staff.
- Candidates with the availability to work the entire ice rink season, December 12, 2025, through March 1, 2026. Shifts are Friday 3 PM – 9 PM, and Saturday and Sunday 12 PM – 8 PM. Accommodation will be available for students while school is in session for the beginning of their shift.
- Candidates who can work additional hours during the holiday period, December 19 – January 14. The ice rink will be open daily from 12 PM to 8 PM, with reduced hours on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day from 12 PM - 5 PM, and closed on Christmas Day. Scheduling will be arranged based on an employee’s availability.
- Applicants must be 16 years old and be available for two of the three days on a typical weekend. Candidates selected will need to pass a drug and alcohol screen and have reliable transportation.
