Our GIS team is responsible for the overall management and operation of the City’s enterprise GIS environment, including servers, software, security certifications, database administration, user accounts, and third-party system integrations. But that’s not all! Our GIS team is responsible for the overall management and operation of the City’s enterprise GIS environment, including servers, software, security certifications, database administration, user accounts, and third-party system integrations. As part of this team, you’ll help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our GIS infrastructure while advancing new capabilities that support the City’s mission.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing and maintaining GIS data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability across multiple departments.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining maps, web applications, and dashboards using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related Esri tools.
- Building and maintaining Python scripts and geoprocessing tools that automate routine tasks, boost data accuracy, and make GIS operations more efficient and innovative.
- Supporting the configuration, operation, and monitoring of GIS servers, databases, and enterprise systems.
- Collaborating with IT and vendor partners to support third-party integrations and ensure system interoperability.
- Analyzing spatial data to support planning, decision-making, and public-facing initiatives.
- Providing technical assistance and training to staff and stakeholders on GIS tools and best practices.
- Ensuring data quality, security compliance, and alignment with the City’s GIS standards and policies.
- Education or formal training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Hands-on experience with Esri’s ArcGIS platform, both ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.
- A strong understanding of GIS concepts, analysis techniques, and data management.
- Knowledge or experience with enterprise GIS systems, databases, or system integrations preferred.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for leveraging GIS to deliver community-focused solutions
