Key Responsibilities:
- Direct daily operations and maintenance of city streets, storm sewer, drainage, and facilities.
- Manage the municipal electric utility, coordinating with contractors on outages and new services.
- Oversee park and grounds maintenance, ensuring safe and attractive public spaces.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and capital improvement planning.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate staff while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Respond to emergencies and public inquiries; attend City Council and Park Board meetings as needed.
Qualifications:
- Specialized training or education in public works or a related field; three years of progressive experience including supervision.
- Must possess a Minnesota Class B CDL; ability to obtain additional certifications within one year.
- Knowledge of maintenance operations, utilities, safety regulations, and budgeting practices.
- Ability to respond to emergencies within 20 minutes.
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
- Exposure to noise, equipment, and physical labor.
- Evening or weekend hours as needed.
