About This Position

Within this department, the Customer Services Division plays a vital role in supporting the community by ensuring customers receive timely, accurate, and professional assistance.
As a Utility Premise Specialist (Utilities Service Specialist*Water), you will be part of a team dedicated to delivering exceptional service and ensuring the accuracy of customer and property-related utility information. In this role, you will assist customers with starting and stopping water service, explaining municipal utility charges, setting up payment arrangements, completing bill adjustments, and issuing fieldwork orders when needed.
A key function of this position includes performing detailed reviews of utility rates and property records to ensure accounts are billed accurately and align with established municipal policies.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

Minimum Qualifications
- One year of customer service experience in a large customer contact center.
- All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position.

- Research and auditing
- Customer service
- Performing account reconciliations
- Utility rates and property records review experience
- Interpreting and applying rules, regulations, and policies
- Using computer systems to input, update, and retrieve data
- Resolving disputed billing issues
- Microsoft Office applications
- Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) systems or similar platforms
- Resolving complex billing and banking disputes in a call center or collections environment
- Analyzing and explaining account details, balances, and transactions to customers
