Your responsibilities will include inspecting underground infrastructure such as conduits, hand holes, and vaults for defects, implementing repairs, and using standardized checklists for reporting. You will conduct fusion splicing with minimal loss, interpret construction blueprints to ensure accurate cable routing, and oversee subcontractors to maintain compliance with project specifications and safety protocols.
Additionally, you will be responsible for pre-construction audits, conducting quality control tests post-installation, and ensuring adherence to TxDOT and OSHA safety standards. Candidates should also be adept in using job-related networking and diagnostic equipment, including OTDRs, VFLs, and power meters. Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, GIS, and Adobe is expected, alongside the ability to read and interpret GIS maps and construction schematics.
