Under the direction of the Assistant City Manager, the Public Works Director provides strategic leadership and management for a department that is comprised of over 130 full-time equivalent employees providing oversight and operation of the city’s essential services in the community, including water distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, streets, drainage, facilities, fleet, emergency response, and other related services. The team is responsible for an operating budget exceeding $78 million and currently oversees 70 active capital and construction projects.
Candidates shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering or related field of study, along with ten (10) years of progressively responsible work in public works operations, infrastructure management, or municipal utilities, five (5) of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. The selected candidate shall also possess a Class B Water Distribution License and a Class III Wastewater Collection License.
