What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Works Intern position at City of Pewaukee?
The Public Works Internship provides an opportunity for college students pursuing a career in civil engineering and municipal public works to learn directly from professionals in these fields. The Public Works Intern will work under the direction of a professional engineer to perform various tasks which may include:
- Assisting staff with construction administration tasks
- Collecting and verifying GIS data
- Assisting staff with erosion control inspections
- Inspect and rate the condition of existing infrastructure
- Develop and draft exhibits for presentations
The pay range for this position is $20.00-21.50 per hour depending on year standing in college and previous experience. Hours of work are Monday-Friday from 8-4:30 pm with a half hour unpaid lunch break.
Education and Experience
- College student majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
- Understanding of basic design, construction, and surveying principle
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for the duration of the internship. Use of a personal vehicle may be required occasionally.
Physical Demands
