Maintenance Technician - Water/Wastewater

The City of Perryville is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician in the Water/Wastewater Department of Public Works. Your primary duties would include the maintenance and operation of fire hydrants, valves, lift stations, sewer jet truck, water distribution systems, sanitary collection systems, and grease trap inspections.

Starting annual salary is $41,418 with an increase to $43,074 after successfully completing the probationary period. City residency is not required; however, any prospective on-call employee shall reside within a 35-mile and 45-minute radius of their worksite. Once trained, members of this team are required to participate in a rotating, after-hours, on-call schedule, typically serving about one week every other month.

A strong preference will be given to applicants with the following skills, abilities and qualifications:

• Prior work experience with a water/wastewater utility system (preferred)
• Equipment operating experience (preferred)
• High school diploma or equivalent GED (required)
• Valid Missouri driver’s license (required)
• Class B CDL license with air brake & tanker endorsement (required)
• Applicants who do not hold a CDL at the time of hire must be able to obtain as a condition of employment
