The City of Peoria Water Production department is seeking a Utility System Operator I to maintain and repair the City's water production system. This is a full time, benefitted position that will provide maintenance and repair to equipment pertaining to the water production well-field treatment and delivery systems throughout the City of Peoria. If you are a hard worker and would love to contribute to a team atmosphere, this is an outstanding opportunity for you. Participation in standby will be required. Shift work, weekends, holidays, overtime and callback may be required on an as needed basis.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:
- Excellent customer services and relationship building skills
- Motivated and eager to learn
- Ability to work independently and work alongside with co-workers
- Basic understanding of plumbing and construction practices
- Will assist in the installation, maintenance, inspections, and repair of equipment, machinery and systems related to Water Production.
- Ability to deal with a system of real numbers; and practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement.
