SALARY: $75,940.80 – $91,166.40/$36.51 – $43.83/hourly range, depending on qualifications

JOB TYPE: Regular/Full-Time

UNION STATUS: non-union

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm, opportunity for flex scheduling if dept allows

The Role

As a PC Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the City’s desktop computing environment by providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and maintenance for computer hardware, software, and related equipment. This position serves as a first point of contact for technology support and helps ensure City staff have reliable and effective access to the tools they need to serve the community.

The ideal candidate will have experience providing end-user technical support, strong customer service skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in a professional and timely manner. You will work closely with City departments to install, configure, and maintain computers, peripherals, and multimedia equipment, while documenting solutions and maintaining accurate inventory records. REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.):

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience providing technical support for personal computers, peripherals, and standard business software
• Working knowledge of Windows-based operating systems and common desktop applications
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network connectivity issues
• Valid Washington State driver’s license, or ability to obtain one by date of hire
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience working in a help desk or IT support environment
• Technical certifications such as A , Network , Microsoft, or equivalent
• Experience supporting audiovisual or conferencing equipment
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  
  

COMPREHENSIVE BENEFITS PACKAGE:The City offers a full benefits package for the employee and all eligible dependents covered at low premiums including:

• Medical coverage available at tiered monthly rates based on plan selection and coverage level ($200 individual/$600 family). Dental coverage is available at $11.59/month and vision coverage at $6.54/month.
• Basic life insurance paid for by the City and employee sponsored supplemental life insurance
• 12 days of vacation during the 1st year of employment and 12 days of sick leave which are available for use upon accrual
• 10 holidays, plus each employee receives 1 floating holiday each year
• Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS), which offers a guaranteed monthly benefit once vesting criteria has been met
• In addition to DRS, employees may also contribute to a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, that offers a pre-tax contribution of 4% from the City
• Other benefits offered: Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program, Tuition Assistance, Flexible Spending Plan, Long-Term Disability, Aflac, and Flexible Schedule (per department approval)
  
  

Safety/Work Conditions

• Primarily indoor, office-based work
• Frequent use of computers and related equipment
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and moving of computer equipment (up to approximately 30 pounds)
• Travel between City facilities as needed
• May require occasional work outside normal business hours to support City operations
