What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sign Markings Technician I position at City of Pasadena?
Duties: Assist in duties in Traffic and Transportation department. Install ground mounted signing and various types of pavement markings in conformance with written and verbal instructions. Install traffic control signing and supporting pipe in street right-of-way. Remove encroachments from street right-of-way. Remove or trim vegetation as needed. Use and occasionally dispatch over radio. Install paint, thermoplastic, and buttons. Flag traffic. Collect inventory data. Make field measurements for traffic control installation. Assist in basic sign shop application. Must have and maintain, without interruption, required certifications and licenses. Works assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policies. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. A valid Texas Driver's License and a good driving record. Candidates should be mechanically inclined with strong hand–eye coordination. Ability to read and interpret job-related documents and accurately complete basic forms is essential. Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor, including lifting and carrying materials, kneeling, crouching and bending; pushing, pulling and reaching; and standing for prolonged periods of time.
