Job Title: Office Assistant
Department: Planning
Type of position: Full-time
Pay Rate: $18/Hr.
Hours: 40/week Nonexempt
MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
The office assistant will work under the direction of the Public Works Director. The assistant will perform tasks including scanning and uploading documents, maintaining and updating excel sheets, drafting letters & emails, answer phone calls, and any addition task the planner deems appropriate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

· Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel
· Skilled in using excel for data organization and reporting
· Maintains a high standard of written communication with attention to detail and a sharp eye for spelling, grammar & punctuation.
· Interpret maps, site, and building plans and specifications.
· Land use zoning, variance, special exception, and other development applications.
· Perform tasks associated with Comprehensive Plan, Land Development Regulations, and their preparation and implementation.
· Create Approval Letters for Permits
· Input Permits & PZE’s into System
· Business License
· Answer phones
· Prepare clear, professional and concise technical documents, letters, reports, and email correspondence.
· Prepare reports for the Planning Commission, Mayor, and the City Council.
· Attend Planning & Council meetings on needed basis.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse interest groups (for example: developers, property owners, elected officials, staff, community representatives, the public, etc.)
· Update and maintain project excel sheets
· Invoicing
· Tape Measure Skills/Knowledge
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must have a valid Florida driver's license.
· High School Diploma or GED Required.
· Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
