Summary
Aquatic team members for the City of Palm Beach Gardens Recreation Division's primary role is to ensure the safety of patrons in and around the pool and throughout the facility. Duties include but are not limited to, supervision of patrons, cleaning, policy enforcement, program and event set up/tear downs and various other duties associated with the pool operations. Aquatic team members have daily, frequent contact with the public; this position requires the ability to interact with the public in a professional, friendly, positive and tactful manner at all times. This position requires the ability to work varying hours during the week and weekends, as Aquatics needs dictate.
Essential Function Duties and Responsibilities
- $18.40/hour Lifeguard 1- High School Student age 15 years or older; Certified American Red Cross Shallow Water/Aquatic Attraction Lifeguard required, and
Any related combination of education, training and experience - $19.31/hour Lifeguard 2- High School Student age 15 years or older; Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard required. At least 1 season of Lifeguard Experience. Ability to commit to necessary standard of hours.
- $20.28/hour Aquatic Instructor - Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard required, and/or American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor/Basic Swim Instructor or Lifeguard Instructor

$22.72/hour Aquatic Programmer - High School Diploma; Minimum of two years professional experience, and Certified American Red Cross Lifeguard required, and
American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor required and/or Lifeguard Instructor Certification
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Student age 15 years or older
- Applicants are required to pass a swimming and skills test before being considered for an oral interview
- Applicants are required to attend mandatory orientation sessions, dates and times to be announced
- Applicants must hold a current Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR Certification and have the ability to provide a copy at the interview
- Applicants must have the ability to work a flexible schedule
- Certification and training as required by operations.
