Cemetery Sexton (Seasonal; Non-Exempt)

Public Works – Stormwater / Vegetation (Cemetery)

Job Summary:

Assist in the daily Cemetery operations and functions relating to care and maintenance of cemetery. This includes but is not limited to burial site preparations mowing weedeating debris pick-up. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Stormwater/Vegetation Supervisor and does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Salary:

$15.52 per hour

Position does not include benefits

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Essential Functions

Perform required labor involved in:

• Maintain the cemetery to a neat; uniform; and professional landscape standard.

• Locate and mark grave sites.

• Prepare and excavate burial plots and complete post-burial backfilling.

• Drainage maintenance.

• Vegetation control.

• Small construction projects.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• 
  Valid OK driver license with good driving record

Working Environment and Physical Requirements:

Work will be performed mostly outdoors in all types of weather conditions; including extreme temperatures; hot and cold; and wet and/or humid conditions. The work environment may include exposure to drafts; noise; dust; and grease.

Tasks require ability to lift/push/pull/ and/or move up to 50-75 pounds with mechanical assistance on a regular basis; and typically involve some combination of walking; sitting; or standing for extended periods of time; walking; balancing; climbing; bending; crawling; crouching; feeling; handling; hearing; kneeling; reaching; repetitive motion; and mental and visual acuity; and may require use of personal protective equipment.
