Parks Maintenance

Parks Maintenance (Seasonal; Part-Time; Non-Exempt)

Job Summary:

Parks Maintenance position will perform general maintenance of the City parks. Responsibilities include maintenance of safe trails and playground equipment, as well as emptying trash cans, picking up trash, and cleaning up play areas.

Salary:

$14.92 per hour; does not include benefits

Schedule:

• Seasonal position from March through October
• 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Saturday and Sunday, and 7:00 am – 11:00 am Monday, generally 20 hours/week

Minimum Qualifications and/or Experience:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Ability to perform the physical duties of the position
• Ability to perform the duties according to the daily schedule on a timely basis
• Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance
• Attention to detail
• Positive and helpful attitude
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Work will be performed at outdoor events that may include varying weather conditions and sounds.

Tasks require the ability to lift/push/pull/ and/or move supplies, materials, and equipment up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, with mechanical or manual assistance, and typically involve some combination of walking, sitting, or standing for extended periods of time, walking, balancing, climbing, bending, crawling, stooping, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, and mental and visual acuity.
