Non-Sworn Applicants Timeline
Application Deadline: February 16, 2026 at midnight
Written Test: February 21, 2026 (9 a.m.) and February 25, 2026 (5:00 p.m.)
Assessment Center, Panel Interview and Physical Agility: March 18 - March 21, 2026 at 8 a.m. at Oshkosh PD (candidates attend one of these dates)
Background Investigations: beginning March 23, 2026
Chief's Interview: Upon passing the Background Investigation
Eligibility List and Conditional Offer: Subject to passing the above steps
Medical/Psychological Examinations: Following Conditional Offer of Employment
Recruit Academy: Subject to hire as a Police Cadet (Academy Start Dates are June 3, 2026 at FVTC and June 9, 2026 at NWTC)
Recommendation to Police and Fire Commission: Upon successful completion of Chief's Interview or graduation from Recruit Academy (if necessary)
Applicants who are eliminated from consideration due to failure of the background investigation, psychological examination, or the medical examination/drug screen may be permitted to take the next written examination provided at least 12 months have elapsed since the last examination, or at the discretion of the Chief of Police.
