Minimum Qualifications
Civil Engineer I
SITE ENGINEERING & PLANS REVIEW: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and six (6) months or more of experience in public works engineering; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida desired. Great people and communication skills highly desired. Experience in the City of Orlando and Water Management District rules and regulations and FEMA rules and regulations as it pertains to site development preferred. Some positions may require a valid Florida Driver's License.
Civil Engineer II
SITE ENGINEERING & PLANS REVIEW: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and two (2) or more years experience in public works engineering; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida desired. Great people and communication skills highly desired. Experience in the City of Orlando and Water Management District rules and regulations and FEMA rules and regulations as it pertains to site development preferred. Some positions may require a valid Florida Driver's License.
Civil Engineer III
SITE ENGINEERING & PLANS REVIEW: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) or more years experience in public works engineering; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Engineering Intern License required. Some positions may require a valid Florida Driver's License. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida desired. SITE ENGINEERING & PLANS REVIEW: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and four (4) or more years experience in public works engineering; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Florida required. A Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment. Experience in the City of Orlando and Water Management District rules and regulations and FEMA rules and regulations as it pertains to site development preferred. Great people and communication skills highly desired. Some positions may require a valid Florida Driver's License.
Location: City Hall, 400 S Orange Ave, Orlando, FL
Promotions are not to be considered an automatic function of longevity and are subject to the review and authorization of the Supervisor. The employee’s last performance review must have resulted in an overall rating of Meets standards or better with no factor rating of less than meets.
