BOARDWALK OPS & ENTERTAINERS

Definition:

Under Supervision, looks to maintain the overall cleanliness and safety of the boardwalk, and creates a healthy environment for the public.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Replace and maintain hand sanitizer stations at all locations along the boardwalk. Picking up loose trash and changing trash/recycling cans along the boardwalk when needed. Communicating with Police and other departments to maintain safety of indoor and outdoor dining areas. Communicating with different departments to help maintain the overall safety and cleanliness of the boardwalk. Reporting problems with the restrooms and helping out if needed.

Requirements:

Knowledge of: Common hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment.

Ability to: Be on your feet for a majority of the shift either walking or biking down the boardwalk. Communicate problems to their respective departments to resolve issues; problem solve on the fly and come up with creative ways to solve problems on the boardwalk; carry moderately heavy objects; read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English to perform the duties of the position.

Tools and Equipment Used:

Hand tools; pliers; hammers; screwdrivers; drills; brooms; shovels; cleaning supplies; ladders; cell phone.

Physical Demands:

Position requires employee to: Continuously stand and walk outside for a majority of shift; reach with hands and arms to pick up trash/recycling; crouch to pick up trash/recycling, and sweep with a broom; change trash/recycling cans that can weigh up to 30lbs; carry 5lb boxes of hand sanitizer down the boardwalk to various stations.

Special Vision requirements: Close, distance, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:
 
 Position requires employee to: Continuously work in an outdoor environment with conditions such as sun, heat, humidity, and rain; frequently working around large crowds of people; frequently working around loud spaces ; spaces; occasionally walking on the beach.
