GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Receives cash from customers or employees in payment for goods or services by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Welcomes visitors and answers incoming telephone calls.

2. Operates cash register to record price, compile printed list, and display cost of customer purchase, and tax on monitor screen.

3. Reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand.

4. Makes change, cashes checks, and issues receipts or tickets to customers. Records amounts received and prepare end-of-day financial reports.

5. Monitors spectators and participants at recreation programs, events, and activities to ensure orderly conduct.

6. Sweeps, mops, scrubs floors and restrooms. Refills soap dispensers, toilet paper and paper towels in rest rooms and/or lounge areas or centers on a daily basis. Cleans windows, tables and chairs. Empties trash and garbage containers.

7. Provides support for department special events before, during, and after the event in the areas and for functions relative to essential job duties and/or otherwise assigned.


Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
High School diploma or GED required. 6 months of related experience or training.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Required to possess and maintain a valid Florida Operators Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
First Aid & CPR certification or the ability to obtain certification within six-months of start date.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Aquatics Specific: Food Handler CertificationCOMMUNICATION SKILLS 
Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs. 

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS 
Ability to use common sense understanding in order to carry out detailed written or oral
instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few known variables in situations of a routine nature. 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED 
Under general supervision where standard practice enables the employee to proceed alone on routine work, referring all questionable cases to supervisor. 

PLANNING 
Limited responsibility with regard to general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work operations. 

DECISION MAKING
 Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor importance, and which would not only affect the operating efficiency of the individual involved but would also affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a slight degree.

MENTAL DEMAND 
Light mental demand. Operations requiring intermittent directed thinking to carry out predetermined procedure or sequence of operations of limited variability. Operations requiring intermittent attention to control machine or manual motions.

ANALYTICAL ABILITY / PROBLEM SOLVING 
Moderately repetitive. Activities with slight variation using a definite set of processes or directions with some degree of supervision. Choice of learned things in situations which conform to clearly established patterns and modes.

USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS 
Regular use of office equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, computer hardware, office machines, and equipment, etc.)

ACCURACY 
Probable errors of internal scope readily detected in normal course of work by standard check or routine crosscheck within a single department or office. Errors resulting from inaccuracy would create minor confusion, delay or expense to correct the situation. 

PUBLIC CONTACT 
Regular contacts with patrons, either within the office or in the field. May also involve occasional self-initiated contacts to patrons. Lack of tact and judgment may result in a limited type of problem for the organization. 

EMPLOYEE CONTACT 
Contacts occasionally with others beyond immediate associates, but generally of a routine nature. May obtain, present or discuss data, but only as pertains to an immediate and specific assignment. No responsibility for obtaining cooperation or approval of action or decision.

SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED 
Basic: Alphanumeric Data Entry, Contact Management, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing 

ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE SKILLS 
MS Word or equivalent word processing software; MS Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software and Internet software. Recreation management and registration software, point-of-sale, or equivalent. 

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision. 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS 
There are no harmful environmental conditions that are present for this position. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 
Occasional attendance at meetings of: organizations; businesses; public schools; churches; and community groups as part of outreach to the community.
This position has a varying daily and weekly schedule based on the needs to the facility. On-site morning, evening, weekend, and non-traditional work hours are required.
