Role Description
This is a part-time Lifeguard role, located on-site in Oakland, CA. Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of all visitors at swimming facilities by monitoring activities, enforcing safety rules, and responding to emergencies. Daily tasks include supervising swimmers, conducting water rescues when necessary, administering first aid, and performing routine maintenance to maintain a safe and clean environment. Lifeguards will also educate patrons on water safety and facility rules.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of water safety, lifesaving techniques, and rescue procedures
- Ability to monitor and enforce safety rules, identify potential hazards, and respond to emergencies effectively
- Skills in administering first aid and CPR
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse groups of patrons
- Physical fitness and the ability to remain alert and focused during long periods of monitoring
- Certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED from an accredited organization
- Experience working in aquatic environments or with public recreation programs is a plus
