Competitive pay: LELS Patrol Union pay scale for Police Officer in 2025 is $90,8120 - $113,525. The 2026 pay scale in 2026 for Police Officer is $93,545 - $116,930. Candidates with more than 10 years of experience are eligible for the Senior Officer pay range: $95,360 - $119,201 in 2025 and $98,222 - $122,777 in 2026.

Patrol Division works a wellness concept schedule. In addition to generous PTO and benefits packages, the city will pay you up to 78 hours wellness hours in lieu of owing time. The patrol schedule is an 11-hour shift (5/5, 2/2) with every other weekend off.

Under limited direction, this position performs law enforcement work such as routine patrol, preliminary investigations, crime control, and traffic regulation for the protection of life and property and prevention; and provides emergency services through the enforcement of laws and ordinances.- Respond to calls for service; handles citizen complaints, problem solving, making custodial arrests, and issuing summons.
- Knowledge of state law and local ordinance.
- Ability to drive and operate emergency vehicles.
- Ability to handle volatile persons, defend self and others, and testify.
- Investigates reports of crime, interview victims, suspects and others involved, collects evidence, packages cases for prosecution.
- Complete paperwork, reports and case management, and training.
- Patrol city streets, neighborhoods, businesses, parks, and conducts traffic enforcement and issues citations.
- Knowledge of city geography.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in Law Enforcement/ Criminal Justice
- POST license eligible by time of hire
- Minnesota Police Officers license
- Valid Drivers License with a driving record that is acceptable to the City’s insurance carrier
