The City of O'Fallon, MO is looking to hire two full time Utility Crew Leaders for our Collections Crew and the Water Main Replacement Crew. Our Utility Crew Leaders earn competitive hourly rates from $27.81 to $ 41.71 (top of grade) with an expected starting salary of $27.81 to $32.00.

As part of our Water and Sewer Department, you will be responsible for supervising and participating in the work of an assigned crew of personnel engaged in the maintenance and repair of the sanitary sewer collection system or the water main replacement crew. Generally, your schedule will be daytime hours Monday through Friday, but overtime hours may be required occasionally.
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Plans and organizes daily work assignments.
- Assesses work orders.
- Enforces safe work practices.
- Supervises and participates in the installation, repair and maintenance of the water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems, including lift stations. (Collections Crew Leader)
- Supervises and participates in the replacement of water mains, including restoration of property (Water Main Replacement Crew Leader)
- Operates a variety of equipment, including front-end loader, backhoe, and dump truck.
- Ensure safe work sites.
- Transports equipment and supplies to and from job sites.
- Notifies residents of repairs and addresses citizen concerns.
- Purchases materials and equipment along with gathering quotes, assist with setting up purchase orders, or coding invoices.
- Supervises and participates in the maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Maintains shop and office areas.
- Supervises and evaluates assigned personnel.
- Responds to after-hour emergencies
- Assist other city crews as needed
- Assist in Asset Management and Maintenance Programs
- Assist with customer service and utility locates request
- Assists with snow removal.
We're looking for someone who is knowledgeable in the construction, maintenance and repair of the maintenance and repair of collections systems and/or water main replacement. This person should be familiar with relevant local, state and federal laws and have skill in supervising personnel.

Requirements include:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with five to eight years experience or service.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Class A commercial driver's license issued by the State of Missouri for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a Class A Collections System Operator Certification (Collections Crew Leader)
- Able to work in confined spaces, as defined by OSHA
