Maintenance Worker I-Landscape

The City of O'Fallon is seeking a dedicated, hardworking Maintenance Worker I – Landscape to join our Parks Department team. In this role, you'll help maintain and enhance the landscaped grounds, green spaces, and public areas that make O'Fallon a beautiful place to live, work, and play. Compensation

This position offers an hourly rate of $22.44 per hour.

What You'll Do:

You'll assist in the maintenance and care of municipal grounds and landscaped areas throughout the City. Typical responsibilities include:

• Operating assigned vehicles, mowers, equipment, and hand and power tools
• Assisting with horticultural practices including planting, pruning, fertilization, irrigation, turf maintenance, and integrated pest management
• Installing and maintaining landscape beds
• Supporting greenhouse operations
• Assisting with annual plant nutrition and pest management programs
• Assessing, operating, and servicing irrigation systems
• Assisting with preparation for festivals and special events
• Participating in snow removal operations
• Supervising and assisting small part-time work crews as assigned
• Performing other related duties as assigned

What You Bring:

• Knowledge of landscape management, horticultural practices, and equipment operation
• Skill in operating landscaping tools, mowers, irrigation systems, and related equipment
• Ability to install and maintain landscape beds and turf areas
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks safely

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
• One to two years of related landscaping, grounds maintenance, horticulture, or similar experience, or completion of an apprenticeship/internship
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class A CDL issued by the State of Missouri (Paid training available)
