This job classification has been designated as a safety sensitive job classification in accordance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act, 63 O.S., § 427.1 et seq., (OSCN 2019), effective August 29, 2019. This means employees in this job classification can be subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination if they test positive for marijuana components or metabolites, even if they possess a medical marijuana license.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: (All incumbents may not perform all duties.)
Essential Functions:
Supervises maintenance, operations, and/or laboratory personnel; plans, schedules, and assigns work; instructs workers in correct methods and procedures; trains workers in safe operation of equipment; monitors and inspects work in progress to ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of work; reviews and evaluates employee performance; monitors and approves employee time registers.
Prepares maintenance, repair, and inspection schedules; establishes project priorities; ensures all work is performed in conformance with appropriate standards and specifications.
Responds to citizens' complaints concerning unit; investigates nature of complaints and takes necessary action.
Determines materials, supplies, and equipment needed for each job; orders supplies and equipment up to a predetermined amount; makes telephone calls to get price quote and purchases best quality for lowest price; may write specifications for equipment and materials used in unit.
Directs and participates in construction, maintenance, and repair duties in area of specialization; assists with the more difficult work situations and responds to emergency situations; operates a variety of light and heavy equipment as needed.
Ensures the necessary materials and equipment are available at each site; ensures equipment and vehicles are in proper working order and are maintained on a timely basis; notifies supervisor of major equipment and work problems.
Ensures workers maintain awareness of others within the work area, maintain a clean and safe work area, follow safety rules and safe work practices, and use safety equipment when required.
Maintains appropriate records for such as equipment maintenance and repair records, inventory of parts, log of work completed and time and materials used, injury reports, and related reports; prepares weekly and monthly operational reports.
Recommends and implements policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency; provides technical advise to supervisor in area of expertise.
Manages
Assists with budget preparations.
Examples of Other Major Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with other City divisions, departments, and general public contacted in the course of work; resolves complaints; assists other divisions/departments as needed.
Maintains a presence in the community as mentor and coach, educating the public regarding proper methodology for services rendered.
Attends group functions at schools, churches and businesses, as often as the opportunities arise, to advocate proper methodologies for services rendered.
Networks extensively with Industry participants locally and nationwide to keep abreast of the latest trends.
Records and memorizes current statistics as they relate to production, and market trends.
Attends trade shows, seminars, classes and training relevant to services rendered as often as practicable to stay ahead of trends.
Investigates injuries and on-the-job accidents involving employees.
Manages Capital Projects as assigned.
Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred. Two years vocational or technical school training in area of specialization preferred.
Four to five years construction, maintenance, and/or repair experience in area of specialization including two years supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge:
Methods and techniques used in area of specialization.
Tools, equipment, materials used in area of specialization.
Occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations.
Supervisory methods and techniques.
Geography of the community.
Knowledge of Windows and Arc View GIS software.
Skills:
Operation and use of equipment and tools used in specialized area.
Planning work, laying out schedules, and supervising subordinates to obtain effective results and meet established time frames.
Reading and interpreting sketches, diagrams, blueprints, plans, specifications, and/or instructions. Draw up plans and specifications for emergency projects.
Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively lead subordinates, resolve minor complaints, and deal with day to day occurrences.
Mental and Physical Abilities:
Ability to maintain regular, predictable and punctual attendance.
Analytical ability to plan work schedules, evaluate work performances, diagnose facility and equipment malfunctions, and determine necessary repairs.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail time when preparing reports or investigating citizen complaints.
Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lb.) supplies, materials, and debris occasionally. Work requires continued walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office environment with exposure of up to 50% of work time to dirt, dust, extremes of temperature, and noxious fumes and odors.
Exposed to hazards associated with equipment, machinery, ungraded terrain at construction sites, and/or moving vehicles on roadways.
On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergencies.
Salary : $86,374 - $124,300
