What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parking Director position at City of Norfolk?
Directs and administers the operation and maintenance of parking facilities by leading and managing the parking administrator, enterprise controller, parking manager, maintenance supervisor, and other key personnel, ensuring all aspects of operations, maintenance and administration are operating effectively and efficiently to the benefit of parking divisions and the city. Oversees the preparation and monitoring of the annual operating and capital budgets by directing staff in the preparation of budget, reviewing and analyzing past and current financial statements, making forecasts of future trends, and reviewing rate structures to ensure revenues meet expenditures and debt. Provides direction and performs special projects by leading and supervising staff, assisting in employee selection, providing counseling, corrective action and monitoring personnel performance, overseeing contracts and leases, and directing and supervising the collection and analysis of data used in the preparation of reports and recommendations. Serves on various boards and commissions representing the City on parking related matters. Responds to requests from downtown businesses, residents, entertainment and cultural facilities, and the general public. Facilitates marketing and communication efforts to ensure that all parties are informed about the City’s parking systems.
Required:
- Five years of increasingly responsible supervisory and administrative experience in management, public or business administration, or a closely related field.
- Valid Driver's License required. A DMV transcript dated within 30 days will be required if selected for hire.
