DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is seasonal work involving a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks in the maintenance and cleaning of neighborhoods in targeted sites throughout the city. The incumbent works along with a group of skilled and unskilled workers in removing debris and trash from public and private properties, as well as trimming trees, raking lawns, cutting grass and flushing hydrants. Direct supervision is received from a supervisor designated in charge of the Impact Team. The
Seasonal Impact Team Worker performs related work as required.

Typical Work Activities
- Works along with a group of workers in the removal of debris and trash, cutting overgrown grass and weeds, raking lawns and trimming trees;
- Operates a variety of light motorized and power equipment such as mowers and trimmers;
- Works with personnel assigned from various city departments, as well as others, including enlistments from the work fare welfare program, AmeriCorps volunteers and community service defendants;
- Serves as a liaison between City of Niagara Falls and property owners;
- Reports any complaints and violations to superior.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND
- Working knowledge of the materials, equipment and methods used in various outdoor maintenance and cleaning operations;
- Working knowledge of safety hazards common to the work involved;
- Skill in the use of hand and power tools and specialized equipment;
- Willingness and ability to perform manual labor work wherever necessary in varying weather conditions;
- Ability to interact with the general public;
- Tact and courtesy;
- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
- Six months of experience in skilled or semi-skilled maintenance work, manual
