As a Part-Time Custodial Worker (20-29 hours per week) you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of city-owned facilities located in high-traffic areas.

Example Of Duties And/or Qualifications
MINIMUM/MANDATORY EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as, described. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be a high school diploma or equivalency, and six months related experience.
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of custodial tasks and duties. Proper use and storage of chemicals, including OSHA Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for hazardous chemicals used in the workplace.
SKILLS: Skill in the use of janitorial equipment. Skill in the use of standard office equipment. Safe and efficient operation and maintenance of equipment according to standard operating and safety procedures. Safe use of chemicals. Establishing and maintaining effective working relations with co-workers. Effective verbal and written communications. Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills. Customer service orientation and skills.
ABILITIES: Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with city management, employees, Council members, other entities, and the public. Ability to work independently with a minimum amount of direction. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals and groups. Ability to write work reports and maintain records and logs, and work orders. Physical ability to perform the essential job functions.
Special Requirements
Valid Oregon Driver’s License at time of hire.
Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility, including the ability to frequently lift or move materials up to 5 pounds, and occasionally lift or move materials up to 60 pounds. The position requires the ability to operate a motorized vehicle. The employee may risk harm from physical hazards, including chemicals, fumes, wet and slippery surfaces, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK ENCIRONMENT
Work location is primarily outdoors where most of the work occurs at city parks, city buildings, or major tourist destinations.

- Open and secure public restrooms each day to ensure accessibility and safety
- Empty trash receptacles in restrooms and throughout city parks
- Restock and deliver paper goods and janitorial supplies
- Clean, disinfect, and deodorize toilets, sinks, urinals, and lavatories
- Wash floors and sanitize all restroom surfaces
- Maintain, clean, and adjust custodial equipment as needed
- Respond promptly to service calls for restroom maintenance
- Interact with the public in a friendly, professional, and service-oriented manner
- Use appropriate cleaning agents to remove stains and maintain hygiene standards
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and restroom products; report needs or equipment issues to supervisor
- Perform additional custodial duties as assigned
