What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr Technical Support Engineer position at City of New York?
The New York City Department of Correction (DOC) is an integral part of the Citys evolving criminal justice system participating in reform initiatives and strategies aimed to move the City towards a smaller jail system without compromising public safety. The DOC is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our employees visitors volunteers and people in our custody. Importantly safe jails enable DOC to provide people in custody with the tools and opportunities they need to successfully reenter their communities. The DOC operates facilities and court commands across the five boroughs with more than 7500 diverse professionals and knowledgeable experts.
The IT Division is in need of a Sr. Technical Support Engineer to support and maintain DOCs Microsoft Active Directory Systems Security Mobile Device Management systems and VMware environments. These environments support all of DOC employees access to network resources applications and IT services. The individual selected for this position will work with a team of staff and be responsible to support and maintaining all these Critical IT environments 24x7.
IT INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER 95714
Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science engineering or a related field and four years of satisfactory fulltime experience related to datacenter engineering and operations cloud engineering and operations complex IT infrastructure engineering; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and eight years of satisfactory fulltime experience related to datacenter engineering and operations cloud engineering and operations complex IT infrastructure engineering; or
3. Education and / or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above.
