SALARY RANGE: $81,812 - $116,823
LOCATION: Department of Finance
RESIDENCY: Must be Westchester County Resident

MINIMUM FOR TEMPORARY PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT
QUALIFICATIONS: (a) Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited college or university with two (2) years’ experience OR (b) Associates Degree from an accredited college with five (5) years’ experience in municipal purchasing. Certification as a Certified Public Professional Buyer (CPPB) is preferred.
PRIMARY JOB
DUTIES: The Purchasing Specialist position requires an energetic, organized, customer-oriented individual to perform a variety of purchasing duties. Successful candidates must possess basic knowledge of public sector purchasing practices and terminology, and have strong written and oral communication skills. The responsibilities include research and tasks in connection with the preparation of specifications and purchase of materials, equipment, supplies and services. Persons in this category work under the general supervision and report to the Purchasing Manager, with some leeway for the exercise of independent judgment in routine cases. Some Supervision may be required. Does related work as required.
