Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Water/Wastewater Operator to maintain the water and wastewater treatment processes in accordance with environmental regulations and safety standards. This role involves operating and troubleshooting treatment equipment, monitoring water quality, and ensuring efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, analysis skills, and experience with water and wastewater treatment systems to support sustainable and compliant operations.
Duties
- Perform equipment repairs and routine maintenance to ensure optimal functioning of pumps, valves, and other treatment equipment.
- Collect and analyze data related to water and wastewater quality parameters to ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, wheel loaders, backhoes, etc.
- Conduct inspections of plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems involved in water and wastewater treatment processes
- Assist with construction or upgrade projects related to wastewater infrastructure as needed
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely during equipment installation or maintenance activities
- Maintain detailed records of operations, maintenance activities, and water quality data for reporting purposes
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Ability to perform equipment repair, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance tasks
- Must hold a Wisconsin Driver's License and be willing to obtain a Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement.
- Must be willing to obtain within 3 years of hire all relevant Wisconsin DNR Water and Wastewater Licenses.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Knowledge of water treatment regulations and safety procedures is essential
