Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of equipment, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading of materials, and delivering freight to designated locations. This role requires a strong understanding of truck driving operations, particularly with flatbed, refrigerated trailers, and roll-off trucks. The Equipment Operator will play a crucial role in maintaining the workflow of our operations while adhering to safety standards.
Duties
- Operate and drive various types of trucks, including flatbed, refrigerated trailers, and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload freight efficiently while ensuring the safety of the cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all shipments.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving in compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the manual handling of materials as needed during loading and unloading processes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely deliveries and effective communication regarding freight status.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or truck operator, particularly with tractor-trailer combinations.
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) and perform manual tasks as required.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
