- NH Solid Waste Facility Operator Certification (obtain within 1 year)
- CDL-B Driver’s License (obtain within 6 months)
- Knowledge of Federal, State and local rules and regulations governing the Solid Waste facility
- Methods, materials, and equipment used in municipal solid waste operations
- Ability to communicate courteously and effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to maintain records and files – e.g. shipping records, maintenance logs, Scale House operations

JOB SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for general litter pick up within the facility and at abutters properties according to DES regulations. This position will perform daily, weekly, and monthly landfill inspections, varied interior and exterior custodial and light maintenance activities and assist residents and landfill staff in the proper disposal of recyclable and solid wastes. This position also fills in for varied landfill operations as required; e.g. Collection Equipment Operator. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4 pm, is part of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position is grade 3, with a starting hourly rate not to exceed $26.90.
