Muskego, Wisconsin - Muskego is located in southern Waukesha County, within the Milwaukee Metropolitan Area. With a population of approximately 25,000, it offers a balance of commercial and residential districts along with beautiful lakes, many parks and recreational opportunities. The City is seeking an experienced, strategic and collaborative Human Resources Director to lead and manage all aspects of the City’s human resources operations.
The Human Resources Director is a key part of the City’s leadership and plays a crucial role in shaping organizational culture, ensuring compliance with employment laws and supporting a full-service city operation. The Human Resources Director reports to the Mayor and interacts with nearly all city staff.
The position oversees policy administration, recruitment and retention, employee relations, benefit administration, compensation planning and labor relations.

Minimum qualifications for the position include:
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field or experience, Masters Degree Preferred;
- Five years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Public sector experience preferred.
- Working Knowledge of HRIS and applicant tracking systems.
- Professional certification in Human Resources Management (SHRM or HRCI) preferred.
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
The salary range for this position is $96,800 to $125,807 DOQ along with a great benefits package.
