The City of Muscatine is looking for a golf professional with a passion for the game and for sharing that passion with others. This position includes the opportunity to provide lessons, manage the clubhouse, and promote the game in the community.
Salary range is $76,544 - $91,852 with an excellent benefits package including IPERS, health and dental coverage, life insurance, LTD, vacation, sick leave, 10 paid holidays
The important aspects of this job include:
Supervising staff in the operations of managing golf play (tee times, time of rounds, golf etiquette, etc.)
Supervising the operation of clubhouse concessions
Establishing and monitoring a budget for assigned clubhouse operations and is responsible for operating within the established budget
Providing technical assistance to the public on the game of golf, including private and group lessons, organizing leagues, scoring golf tournaments, recommending appropriate equipment and golf rules
Creating a merchandising plan that promotes clubhouse sales, both in the pro shop and at the concession stand
Planning and implementing public relations activities to encourage growth of golf
Actively represent the city, specifically the golf course, to public groups
Organizing and teaching junior golf clinics and programs
Coordinating leagues, outings, clinics, and other activities to increase golf course usage
Performing “off season” work including, but not limited to, marketing and promotion of the golf course and winter clubhouse programs
Handling all daily administrative tasks including cash handling, purchasing, meeting attendance and other requirements within established city policies and procedures
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in business or closely related field
Considerable experience in clubhouse management, retail merchandising, or related field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
PGA or LPGA Class A member in good standing
Ability to be insured by city’s insurance carrier
Must reside within 30 air miles of Muscatine City limits
Must pass physical and drug screen following job offer
