What are the responsibilities and job description for the Airport Operations Worker position at City of Murfreesboro?
This position is considered a Safety-Sensitive position. Applicants who pass the interview process will be subject to drug and alcohol testing.
The purpose of this position is to provide operational assistance to include fueling aircrafts, collecting payments, monitoring UNICOM radio, monitoring airport systems, and performs general airside and landside maintenance.
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure the safe and efficient operations of the business.
- Refuels and tows aircraft; maintains accurate fueling records and fee collection.
- Assists Airport Manager to ensure safe operations and that all airport rules, regulations, and standards are achieved.
- Executes Emergency Plan when necessary.
- Assists with the recording and maintenance of equipment and facilities; assists with the records and procedures for off-loading of fuel into fuel farm.
- Assists with daily reports, special reports, studies, and inspections of airport facilities.
- Supports in the training and supervision of part-time Airport Operations Worker.
- Assists in maintaining a clean workstation, terminal, restrooms, and airport grounds.
- Operates various types of lawn mowing and lawn care equipment.
- Assists grounds crews, janitorial staff, and facilities maintenance when needed.
- Performs other work as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Performs work that involves walking or standing all of the time.
- Routinely climbs ladders and heavy vehicles 12 feet.
- Involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis.
- Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Prior relevant experience is preferred.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Driver’s license required.
