Laborer

As part of the Water & Sewer Department, you’ll play a key role in keeping our city’s water and sewer systems reliable, safe, and fully operational. From repairing lines to reading meters to supporting emergency maintenance, your work directly impacts families, businesses, and neighbors who depend on clean water and functioning sewer systems every day. Duties

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on city water and sewer lines, ensuring reliable service for residents.
• Read and record water meter readings monthly for accurate city billing.
• Assist with TV and Vactor Truck operations as needed to support inspections and maintenance.
• Dig up water and sewer lines, fill holes, pack base, and patch road cuts after repairs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the layout of the city and ability to navigate work sites efficiently.
• Skill in operating repair and maintenance tools including pipe saws, pipe cutters, and various hand tools.
• Ability to follow oral instructions and communicate clearly with team members.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math at a high‑school level or equivalent.
• Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Arkansas driver’s license.
• Ability to work on‑call shifts during weekdays, weekends, nights, or emergencies.
• Must obtain a CDL within 12 months of hire.

Pay: From $15.90 per hour
