Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or G.E.D and four (4) years of painting experience, including at least two years of experience at the journeyman level and one-year supervisory experience.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Special Requirements
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have and maintain a valid Alabama driver’s license in order to drive city vehicle to oversee and participate in various painting projects of City facilities.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES: Physical ability to pick up and move paints and equipment weighing at least fifty pounds. Physical ability to climb a ladder or scaffold and work to over 100 feet off the ground. Physical ability to walk, stoop, and stand for several hours at a time. Physical ability to distinguish among various paint colors. Physical ability to work indoors and outdoors for long periods of time, working in small confined areas, and high or low areas for extended periods of time. Ability to drive city vehicles as needed to pick up paints and supplies and to travel to City facilities.
