DESCRIPTION

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK
Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work providing customer assistance; does related work as required. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Airport Lead Customer Service Representative.
This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires reaching, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS
Assisting customers and airport staff; monitoring and maintaining air to ground radio communications; maintaining the cash drawer; preparing and maintaining fuel invoices, records and files.
Greets customers when entering the Fixed Base Operation (FBO) and ensures their comfort while visiting.
Provides assistance to customers in taking care of passenger and pilot needs, such as ground transportation, catering, hotel reservations, etc.
Handles incoming calls and responds to inquiries as required; ensures that telephone calls are handled professionally and thoroughly and that customer requests are fulfilled.
Receives and processes customer orders and payment transactions; counts and balances cash drawer; prepares daily operation and cash reports for submittal to Airport Administrative Assistant.
Monitors aviation tracking software; relays messages to line crew.
Monitors security cameras and access gates; responds to requests, determines accessibility, and provides information as necessary.
Receives, processes, and enters a variety of information into computer system.
Performs related tasks as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
General knowledge of standard office procedures, practices, and equipment; good organizational skills essential; ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; ability to follow work procedures; ability to post accounts and to perform mathematical computations with speed and accuracy; skill in the use of a variety of office machines and some typing ability; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and moderate customer service and retail sales experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina.
