Business Process Analysis
- Analyze existing departmental workflows, financial procedures, and operational processes.
- Identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for automation or improvement.
- Develop process maps, workflow diagrams, and written documentation of procedures.
- Recommend policy or procedural updates aligned with best practices.
- Serve as a functional lead for financial and human Resources operational systems (e.g., ERP, billing systems, budgeting software).
- Gather and document business requirements for system enhancements or new software implementations.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and system configuration validation.
- Assist with system upgrades, data conversions, and integration projects.
- Troubleshoot system-related issues and collaborate with IT to resolve them.
- Work with department heads to understand operational needs and reporting gaps.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on system functionality and reporting tools.
- Support change management efforts related to system or process improvements.
- Assist with interdepartmental projects requiring financial or operational analysis.
- Evaluate business processes to ensure adequate internal controls.
- Support audit preparation through documentation and process validation.
- Ensure data governance standards and confidentiality requirements are maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Analyze and redesign business processes, identifying inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for automation and improvement
- Lead functional support of financial and HR systems (ERP, billing, budgeting), including requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and issue resolution
- Develop process documentation, workflows, and policies aligned with best practices and operational needs
- Collaborate across departments to support reporting, training, and change management initiatives
- Ensure strong internal controls, audit readiness, and data governance while maintaining confidentiality
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Information Systems, or related field
- Three (3) years of experience in business analysis, financial systems, data analysis, or process improvement
- Experience working with enterprise software systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in municipal government or public sector
- Knowledge of governmental fund accounting
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Tyler Munis, Incode, SAP)
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
