The City of Minot is looking for a Part Time Summer Employee for the Planning Department.

Position Summary
This is a part time position which performs a variety of planning support tasks. Work is performed under the continuing supervision of the Community Development Director and Principal Planner.
The Planning Division is willing to work with student applicants that are seeking to earn college program internship credit for work performed in this position.
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 20-25 hours per week

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Audits sign permits for compliance. Maintains spreadsheets and logs.
- Audits landscaping plans and checks for compliance. Maintains spreadsheets and logs.
- Maintains indexes, files and spreadsheets for the Planning Department. Provides administrative support to the Planning Department. Maintains a variety of records pertaining to planning projects.
- Assists the Associate Planner with code enforcement issues and complaints. Investigates zoning violations and notifies property owners with letters citing violations, accompanied by pertinent ordinance information.
- Undertakes special projects as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Other Requirements
- Graduation from Highschool or GED equivalent; preferably supplemented by college courses in Geographic Information Systems; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age
- Possess or have the ability to obtain a valid North Dakota driver's license within one month of appointment.
Compensation
- Starting hourly wage of $20.00 Per Hour
- This is a Part Time, FLSA nonexempt, non-civil service position with no benefits provided.
