Job Description
This position umpires softball games for adult men's, co-rec, and/or women's softball leagues. Games are held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings from 6-10 p.m. at Big Willow Park in Minnetonka or Central Park in Hopkins. Spring/Summer games are played from late April to early August. Fall games are played from mid-August through October.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Umpire adult softball games.
- Provide quality customer service before, during and after league games.
- Maintain control of a game and surroundings (participants, fans, etc.)
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
- Make on-site decisions regarding weather cancelations if needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- A commitment to and belief in the organization's shared values.
- Significant knowledge of softball rules and/or playing experience.
- Must be 24 years of age or older.
- Great communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience as a softball umpire
- USSSA Certified
- Extensive knowledge of the game and rules through playing experience and umpiring experience
