JOB SUMMARY |
The Assistant Part-Time Parks Facility Coordinator supports the daily operations of the City’s community center and parks facilities. This position assists with facility rentals, program registrations, customer service, event support, and general facility upkeep. The role works under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Director and provides frontline support to ensure facilities are safe, organized, welcoming, and operational during scheduled hours. |

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Assist with the day-to-day operation and oversight of the community center and assigned parks facilities • Support facility rentals, memberships, and program registrations, including processing forms and collecting payments • Provide customer service to residents, program participants, coaches, and facility renters • Assist with scheduling, setup, and breakdown for facility reservations, programs, and special events • Maintain basic records related to facility use, registrations, and revenue • Assist with posting schedules, notices, and informational materials throughout the facility • Monitor facility cleanliness and report maintenance or safety concerns • Answer phones, relay messages, and provide general information regarding programs and facility use • Assist with issuing facility access materials such as identification cards or passes • Communicate facility bookings or setup needs to Parks, Public Works, or other departments as directed • Support recreational programming by assisting with paperwork, equipment distribution, and participant coordination

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: |
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. The employee may be required to lift, move, or carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, with occasional lifting to 45 pounds. Work may occur indoors and outdoors and may include evenings, weekends, or special event hours. The position involves regular interaction with the public, including children and program participants. |

Every City of Milton employee has emergency response responsibilities. Although not every position will require assignments during an emergency event, all employees may be subject to some requirements during or after emergency operations, which may involve irregular work hours, relocation to emergency sites, and duties beyond those specified in the official job description. Emergency assignments may involve physically and operationally challenging conditions with little or no advance notice. This position is classified as STAND-BY during emergency operations and will not be required to return to work until essential services have been restored and the City resumes normal operations. This position is classified as CATEGORY III: Safety-Sensitive, which includes positions defined as mandatory-testing positions under Florida Statute 440.102(1)(o). Safety-Sensitive positions are those where a momentary lapse in judgment, coordination, or alertness could reasonably result in injury, death, significant property damage, or disruption of essential public services. Duties that qualify as safety-sensitive include operating City vehicles or equipment, working around utilities or electrical systems, performing work in confined spaces or at heights, using tools or chemicals capable of causing injury, working with children or detainees, or performing duties where impairment would directly affect emergency response or public safety. DRIVER CLASSIFICATION |
Positions are assigned a Driver Classification based on whether driving is an essential part of the job and the level of responsibility involved in operating a City vehicle or driving for city-related business. Driver classifications determine the type of license required, the level of training needed, type and frequency of Motor Vehicle Record checks, and the safety and compliance expectations for the position.
This position is classified as NON-DRIVER, which includes positions that do not require the operation of a City vehicle or driving on behalf of the City to perform essential job duties. Employees in this category are not required to meet driver eligibility standards or maintain a valid driver’s license as a condition of employment. Occasional or incidental driving is not authorized unless the position is reclassified and assigned an appropriate driver category. |
