About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Technician - Wastewater and Water Facilities to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical functionality and acceptable running condition of our treatment plants and distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, inspect, and monitor control panels and various mechanical and electrical equipment used in the treatment of wastewater and water.
- Collect wastewater, water, and sludge samples and perform basic field and laboratory analysis on the collected samples.
- Troubleshoot and calibrate lab equipment and interpret data accumulated to make equipment and process control changes within established guidelines.
- Perform maintenance and labor tasks, including general housekeeping at all facilities, including well houses and pressure relief pits.
Requirements:
- Graduation from high school or GED certification.
- Valid South Dakota Operator Certification as recommended by the State of South Dakota.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information accurately and understandably.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to prevent and troubleshoot equipment failures.
