What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Community Development Grant Administrator position at City of Midland, Michigan?

This position exists to administer grant funded projects under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, or other associated grants, to ensure compliance with all grant requirements and successful delivery of grant funded projects to the community.

Examples of Work: Day-to-Day administration of the City's CDBG program in coordination with the Community Development Planner and under the direction of the Director of Planning & Community Development. Performs basic grant accounting, with assistance from the City Finance Department, and ensures spending remains within the approved budgeted amount each fiscal year. Prepares City Council & Housing Commission agenda items related to CDBG. Prepares the City's Annual Action Plan and amendments to the consolidated plan for CDBG. Reviews sub-recipient applications and assists sub-recipients in proper use of grant funding. Monitors compliance with federal grant requirements including Davis-Bacon, Section 3, environmental reviews, etc. Assists City of Midland Community Development staff with Housing Commission work.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Should have good research skills; ability and willingness to educate themselves on various grants, grants processes, and compliance requirements; ability and willingness to learn on the job. The successful applicant will also have effective administrative skills including exceptional organization skills. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. A two-year degree and 1 - 3 years of administrative experience required, and past grant administration experience preferred.

Pay: $27.98 - $31.80 per hour
