What are the responsibilities and job description for the special event site supervisor position at City of Miami Springs?

Responsible for overseeing the Adult Community Center during private rentals and City events on weekends and evenings to ensure proper use of facilities, adherence to policies, and safety of participants. Provides on-site supervision, assists with event setup and cleanup, and secures the building after events and meetings.
Approximately 12 to 16 hours per week.
- Verify completion of rental agreements for use of the Adult Community Center dining room and/or patio.
- Open the building one hour prior to scheduled events.
- Review rental policies and facility rules with clients and ensure compliance during events.
- Monitor activities to prevent damage to City property and maintain a safe environment.
- Assist with event setup, including repositioning of furniture and equipment as needed.
- Oversee cleanup and assist with trash disposal following events.
- Secure the building and ensure all lights, doors, and equipment are properly shut down after renters or event attendees have departed.
- Open and assist with setup and breakdown for City-sponsored events and meetings held on weeknights.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to renters, guests, and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in facility operations, event supervision, or customer service preferred.
- Ability to lift and move tables, chairs, and light equipment.
- Reliable transportation and availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with the public.
