Salary: $10,416.11 per month
Job Summary:
Executive level leadership position within the Public Works Department responsible for the operation, maintenance, regulatory compliance, pretreatment, environmental laboratory operations of the City’s Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility and sewer collection system. This position is tasked with development and implementation of strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Department. This position requires broad knowledge of wastewater treatment practices and principles, as well as experience in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems. Additionally, the incumbent is accountable for the Wastewater Division’s overall compliance with State and Federal environmental regulations related to discharge monitoring permit criteria, air, and biosolids. This position serves as the primary responsible charge operator required by the State of Idaho for the Wastewater Treatment Facility and Collections System. This position exercises complex technical decision making and problem solving with considerable independence within the framework of established policies, procedures and guidelines.
Job Specifications:
- Bachelor degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemical or Biological Sciences, or closely related field;
- 7 years of progressively responsible technical wastewater treatment facility operation and maintenance experience at an advanced wastewater facility; or 7 years of advanced wastewater facility design and master planning experience.
- 3 years of experience directly supervising or managing employees Or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position.
Licensing & Certifications:
- Must hold or have the ability to obtain a state of Idaho Class IV Wastewater Treatment Operators License within 6 months of meeting the DOPL experience/education requirements;
- Must hold or have the ability to obtain a state of Idaho Class IV Wastewater Collection Operators License within 6 months of meeting the DOPL experience/education requirements;
- Class IV Wastewater Laboratory License, preferred.
- Possession of valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
