Job Responsibilities
2. Maintains neat and clean personal and work area appearance.
3. Sorts and returns materials according to established procedures.
4. Locates materials for patrons and departments.
5. Schedules meeting rooms for internal and external customers.
6. Monitors use of meeting rooms during events.
7. Completes setup of meeting rooms as planned with customer.
8. Assists with the creation of marketing tools such as posters, brochures, etc.
9. Troubleshoots problems with library equipment including computers, photocopiers, etc.
10. Assists with tours, outreach, programs, and special projects.
11. May participate in internal library committees.
12. Exhibits dependability and punctuality in regards to attendance.
13. Monitors assigned department. Explains and enforces library policies and procedures to the public.
14. Provides digital literacy instruction. Assists patrons with a variety of devices to access electronic resources.
15. Provides collection development and collection maintenance support.
16. Assists in marketing with the preparation of reading lists, reader's advisory activities, displays, and publications.
17. May assist in supervising Work Study Students and Volunteers.
18. Assists patrons on a limited basis.
19. Performs clerical duties as needed.
20. May assist in training other staff members
21. Performs other job related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Job requires an accredited high school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Previous job experience in a customer service field or library setting is preferred.
3. A current and valid Texas Class C driver's license preferred.
4. Must be able to serve the public in a courteous manner, using tact and diplomacy.
5. Must be able to use office equipment to include computer, copy machine, and scanner.
6. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
Physical Requirements
2. Work involves frequent lifting and shelving of individual books ranging from 2 to 10 lbs.
3. Job requires normal physical activity, including pushing and pulling fully loaded book trucks weighing up to 200 lbs.
Additional Information
1. Position has no supervisory responsibilities.
2. Job requires working evenings and weekends.
