The City of Marinette is seeking a dedicated and skilled Equipment Operator to join our team. This position supports the Public Works department and involves a variety of tasks including road maintenance, equipment operation, and cemetery services. Public Works key duties include, but are not limited to: Operate construction and maintenance equipment including excavators, loaders, and trucks; Perform road repair, snow plowing, and general maintenance of streets and public infrastructure; Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

The typical work schedule is 40 hours a week, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (hours outside of normal schedule may vary based on seasonal and emergency response). Salary: The 2026 hourly pay for this position is $28.76 / hour. This position is eligible for the annual COLA pending City Council approval.

Qualifications: Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or C with N endorsement. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in equipment operation, road maintenance, or construction preferred. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks. Availability for on-call work, especially during snow removal operations or emergency situations.

Residency: Applicant is required to within six months of hire, establish a bona fide residence within a thirty-mile radius of the jurisdictional boundary of the City of Marinette.
